Real estate videographer vs Roomotion

Create your videos

A real estate videographer films the property on site: a true walkthrough from room to room, drone flights, custom production. Expect roughly $150 to $600 per listing video, plus several days between booking and delivery. Roomotion creates the video from your listing photos, with real camera moves, in about ten minutes and from €30 per video. If you have the budget and the time, a videographer remains the best choice for a luxury property; Roomotion lets you put a video on every listing.

What a videographer brings

A real estate videographer comes on site with their gear and films the property. It is the only way to get certain shots, and for some listings, those shots make all the difference.

  • A true walkthrough. The camera moves from room to room without a cut, the way a buyer would.
  • Aerial views. The drone films the lot, the pool and the view on site, even if you have no aerial photos.
  • Custom production. Editing, pacing and color grading tailored to one property and its buyers.

For a luxury home, a property with a large lot or a listing where the location is the main selling point, this work has no substitute.

What Roomotion does

Roomotion starts from the photos you already have for the listing. You upload 5 to 15, enter the property details and your contact info, and the AI turns each photo into a camera shot that moves through the room. The video is assembled for you, with an intro (title, location, price), an end screen with your name, music and your brand kit, in 16:9 and 9:16.

No appointment to set, no travel, no home to prepare: the video is ready in about ten minutes. It stays true to your photos, with no hallucinations: no added furniture, no made-up rooms.

Its limits, honestly

  • The photo is everything. A dark or blurry photo makes a weak shot. Good photos make a great video.
  • It is not a filmed walkthrough. Each shot stays within its photo: you don’t walk through a door into the next room. That is by design: what lies beyond the door is not in the photo, and Roomotion doesn’t make anything up.
  • Nothing beyond your photos. What is not in your photos does not appear in the video. If you have an aerial photo, it becomes a rising shot, like a drone flight.

The real cost of a videographer

On the public price lists of US real estate media studios, a listing video runs roughly $150 to $600, depending on the market, the square footage and the style, from a simple interior walkthrough to a cinematic edit. The base price is often tiered by square footage.

Add-ons then stack up:

  • Drone footage: usually $100 to $250 more.
  • Twilight video: around $200 more.
  • A vertical cut for social media, weekend shoots and travel fees: each can be billed separately.

For a luxury listing with a high-end production, rates climb into the thousands. Roomotion, by comparison, costs €39 for a single video and €30 per video in a 10-pack, excl. VAT, with 16:9 and 9:16, the intro, the end screen and music included. Details are on the pricing page.

Turnaround and logistics of a shoot

Price is only part of the cost. A shoot takes coordination:

  • An appointment that works for the videographer and for the sellers or tenants.
  • A home ready to film: decluttered, clean, well lit.
  • Weather and light, especially for exteriors and drone work.
  • Editing time: the video usually arrives 1 to 2 business days after the shoot.

The drone adds its own rules. In the US, the pilot needs an FAA Part 107 remote pilot certificate, and flying in controlled airspace near airports requires an authorization, usually obtained through LAANC.

With Roomotion, the video can go live the day you publish the listing, from the photos you already have.

The cost of 10 listings a month

Take a brokerage that takes on 10 listings a month and wants a video for each.

  • With a videographer: 10 shoots at $150 to $600, or $1,500 to $6,000 a month before add-ons and travel, plus 10 appointments to schedule.
  • With Roomotion: the 10-video pack costs €300 excl. VAT, or €30 per video, with no subscription and no appointments. Credits are valid for 12 months.

At videographer rates, video tends to be reserved for a few listings. With Roomotion, it becomes possible for the whole portfolio, whether you run a brokerage or work as an independent agent.

When to hire a videographer, when to use Roomotion

Use Roomotion if you want

  • An immersive video for every listing, not just a few.
  • A video ready the day you list, with no appointment.
  • A cost per video that works for every property, including entry-level ones.
